The Budtender position is a customer-facing role responsible for delivering an exceptional, compliant, and personalized experience to every guest. This position plays a vital role in educating customers on cannabis products, guiding purchasing decisions, and supporting daily dispensary operations. The ideal candidate is professional, compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Sales

  • Greet customers and visitors in a warm, professional, and welcoming manner
  • Provide knowledgeable guidance on cannabis products, including forms, effects, benefits, and responsible use
  • Assess customer needs and deliver personalized product recommendations
  • Answer questions clearly and accurately while fostering trust and comfort
  • Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
  • Support sales goals through tailored recommendations and product education

Compliance & Safety

  • Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with state cannabis regulations
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Report compliance issues or customer concerns promptly to management

Inventory & Operations

  • Assist with receiving, counting, restocking, and organizing inventory
  • Maintain accurate product handling and inventory tracking
  • Ensure products are properly displayed, stored, and labeled
  • Support opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures as assigned

Store Maintenance & Team Support

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized retail environment, including front- and back-of-house areas

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass required background checks
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of experience in retail, hospitality, customer service, or related fields preferred
  • Cannabis industry experience
  • Experience with Treez, METRC, Alpine IQ, Dispense App or similar systems (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
