What are Cannabis POS systems?

Cannabis POS (Point of Sale) systems are specialized software and hardware solutions designed for dispensaries and cannabis retailers. These systems help manage sales transactions, track inventory, ensure compliance with state and local regulations, and generate reports for business operations. Cannabis POS systems often integrate with seed-to-sale tracking and include features like age verification, loyalty programs, and secure payment processing. They are essential for maintaining accurate records and providing a smooth customer experience in the highly regulated cannabis industry.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a Cannabis POS specialist?

To thrive as a Cannabis POS Specialist, you need a solid understanding of retail operations, inventory management, and compliance with cannabis regulations, often supported by experience in retail or dispensary environments. Familiarity with cannabis-specific POS systems (such as Flowhub, Greenbits, or Treez) and state tracking software is typically required. Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help in delivering a positive client experience and maintaining regulatory compliance. These skills and qualities are crucial for ensuring smooth transactions, legal adherence, and customer satisfaction in a highly regulated industry.

What are common challenges faced when working as a Cannabis POS specialist, and how can they be managed?

As a Cannabis POS specialist, you may encounter challenges such as staying compliant with rapidly changing state regulations, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, and handling customer data securely. Adapting quickly to new compliance requirements and maintaining up-to-date training are crucial. Additionally, collaborating closely with dispensary staff and management helps streamline operations and ensure a seamless customer experience. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are key to managing these challenges effectively.

Job description

Our Story:

Story Cannabis was built by misfits on a mission - people bold enough to shift the cannabis narrative and create something better. Founded in 2021 by industry veterans, Story is a vertically integrated company headquartered in Phoenix, operating across Arizona, Maryland, Ohio, and Louisiana, and we're just getting started.

Our vision is to bring hope, happiness, and healing to the world through cannabis, and we're doing it one state, one store, and one customer at a time.

Leadership defines how we show up. Data drives how we grow. Gratitude keeps us grounded. Unity fuels our momentum. And growth, in every sense, inspires everything we do.

If you're ready to challenge what's expected and shape the future of cannabis, your next chapter starts with Story.
