Job description

The Opportunity:
A Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will be working with key clients and prospects to secure business opportunities, with a focus on environmental due diligence, working on projects to revitalize and reuse contaminated sites, and advising owners on project findings and options along with managing their regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities:
  • Ability to build an environmental practice by bringing or establishing a network of prospects and clients.
  • Identifying and securing business/project opportunities both independently and in support of other local, regional and corporate business development activities.
  • Preparing proposals and negotiating professional service fees and contracts.
  • Identifying and participating in professional and business organizations and other networking activities that will foster relationships with current clients and potential clients and develop the professional visibility of SME and the environmental team.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing environmental site investigations; conducting data evaluation, validation and visualization; and preparing technical reports.
  • Extensive knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and applications.
  • Ability to synthesize data and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other team members and clients.
  • Mentoring and leading project teams to successfully complete assigned responsibilities.

Requirements:
  • Competency using computer operating systems and MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and supervisors, conveying technical information clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage workloads, maintain accurate and detailed record-keeping skills, documenting field observations, safety concerns, and problem resolutions.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members, fostering positive working relationships, customer-centric approach to provide excellent service to clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Ability to identify and share cross-selling opportunities with SME team members to maximize SME's value with our clients.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to change and react productively to frequent interruptions and changing conditions.
  • General aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical problems in the field, utilizing critical thinking and logical reasoning.
  • Demonstrates ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring safety and security in all aspects of work, strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, fostering a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting (up to 50lbs repetitively), walking on uneven ground frequently, and carrying equipment, working in various weather conditions, and traveling to different locations.
