Job description

Job Title: Platform Validation Engineer

Location: Santa Clara, CA, Onsite work

Duration: Long term

Immediate starter required

Top Must-Haves

  1. L10 / System-Level Platform Validation HIGHEST PRIORITY
  • We need a true L10/System-Level Validation Engineer, not someone focused primarily on L6 component-level testing.
  • Experience validating complete server/platform systems, including server bring-up, integration, diagnostics and end-to-end validation.
  • Candidate should be able to understand system dependencies and independently identify where failures originate.
  • Experience with third-party/OEM servers and internal/proprietary drives is highly relevant.
  1. Python / Shell Test Automation MUST HAVE
  • Candidate must be capable of writing validation/test scripts from scratch.
  • Should not be limited to executing existing scripts or making minor modifications.
  • Must be able to independently develop, debug and maintain Python/Shell automation.
  • Should be comfortable creating test cases, executing validation, analyzing failures and improving automation.
  1. BMC / Redfish MUST HAVE
  • Hands-on experience with BMC, preferably Redfish/API-based server management and diagnostics.

Validation Level Expectations

  • L6: Component/board-level validation, probing, electrical testing useful but not sufficient by itself.
  • L7: Subsystem-level validation good to have.
  • L10: MOST CRITICAL system/platform-level validation, integration, automation and debugging.
  • L11: Networking/advanced network validation LOW PRIORITY. Basic networking fundamentals are sufficient.

Important Technical Skills

  • Strong hardware/system fundamentals
  • Linux systems and troubleshooting, including basic kernel-level debugging
  • Hardware/platform failure analysis and root-cause debugging
  • Storage fundamentals SSD/HDD, TLC/QLC, SMART, drive health and integration
  • PCIe fundamentals and system-level dependency understanding
  • Ability to diagnose issues and drive them through regression/closure, rather than simply filing bugs
