Project Overview:

Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. These large, complex, and multi-disciplined projects create jobs, grow economies, and provide opportunities for local and regional communities.

The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.

Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.

Job Summary:

Bechtel Mining and Metals are currently seeking a Lead Smart Completions Administrator.  The role will commence in Brisbane for 12 months before transferring to a FIFO site-based on 2/1 week roster to Cloncurry, Qld. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the primary responsibilities of the role are to provide input and administration of the Smart Completions software in support of project personnel in both Construction and Commissioning.

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”  

Major Responsibilities:
  • Ongoing administration of the Project’s Smart Completions platform (including but not limited to ITRs, Punchlisting, Preservation and Completions Certificates management).
  • Working with the Project team to implement and support the data integrations and reporting requirements from Smart Completions.
  • Working with the Project IS&T team to configure and administer tablets for in-field use with Smart Completions.
  • Preparing and delivering Smart Completions training.
  • Working with the Project IS&T team to support customer data and handover requirements.
  • Interfacing with construction, commissioning and turnover functions through the Project lifecycle to support Completions activities.
  • Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Industry experience gained through a recognised degree in a STEM-related field, and/or specialised courses in Information Systems, Engineering, Construction or related fields, and/or work experience in a STEM-related field.
  • Smart Completions or similar CCMS experience preferred.
  • Construction, Commissioning or Handover experience preferred.  
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of field engineering, construction and commissioning methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialised instruction or practical experience, ideally through time deployed to project worksites. 
  • Excellent communication and problem solving ability. 
  • Experience with or exposure to Hexagon’s Smart Completions Software. 
  • Experience with or exposure to TEAMworks, BCSTools, SETROUTE and Aconex. 
  • Experience with or exposure to Bechtel standard construction work processes and procedures (SWPPs) and Standard Test and Commissioning procedures (STCPs) . 
  • Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
