You will create and develop 3D models and piping designs, contribute to structural steel skid and pipe support design, and help deliver industry-leading hydrocarbon processing facilities. Strong performance on these projects can lead to extended future work and participation in larger, more complex design scopes.
Responsibilities
- Carry out moderate-to-advanced tasks related to the layout and design of process equipment modules for oil and gas processing facilities under supervision.
- Create and develop 3D models and piping designs for process piping systems.
- Assist in the creation and development of detailed designs for structural steel skids and pipe supports.
- Revise existing designs based on vendor drawings and updates from stress analysis.
- Manage design information and assemble checking packages to support design review and quality control.
- Create and develop layout drawings and detailed piping drawings.
- Produce piping isometrics to support fabrication and installation activities.
- Produce structural drawings and fabrication drawings for skids, pipe supports, and related structures.
- Receive and review design data and vendor information to ensure accurate incorporation into project designs.
- Calculate piping components and pre-order materials in alignment with project requirements and standards.
- Receive and incorporate design specifics from Engineering and other disciplines into piping and structural designs.
- Collaborate closely with Piping Checkers, Mechanical Engineering, and the Fabrication Shop to resolve design issues and optimize constructability.
- Provide weekly progress and status reports to the Lead Designer to support project tracking and scheduling.
- Assist design leads and sr. designers as required on project-related tasks and deliverables.
- Assist with and provide project-related training to junior personnel as required, contributing to team development.
- Support FEED studies and subsequent detailed design work, helping to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
