The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, practical problem solving skills, and experience working cross functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, and Product Development teams.

The Mechanical Sustaining Engineer will focus on ensuring production products continue to meet customer, quality, cost, reliability, and performance objectives throughout their lifecycle. The role is primarily focused on Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs).

Responsibilities:

  • Support released CDU products throughout their lifecycle, ensuring continued performance, quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Investigate product, manufacturing, supplier, and field issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Create and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to support product improvements, component changes, and issue resolution.
  • Provide day to day engineering support to Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service teams.
  • Support resolution of production issues related to assembly, testing, quality, and component availability.
  • Identify and qualify alternate components to address obsolescence, supply constraints, and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Perform engineering calculations, root cause analysis, tolerance analysis, reliability assessments, and engineering evaluations.
  • Develop, execute, and document engineering validation testing to verify product performance and design changes.
  • Identify and conduct VAVE opportunities.
  • Create, review, and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, bills of materials, specifications, test reports, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve technical issues and support component qualification activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, failure reviews, FMEA activities, and corrective action investigations.
  • Provide technical support for customer meetings, field investigations, factory testing, and product deployments as required.

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical degree.
      • Interested in working at a fast moving tech company.
      • Focused on making high quality products and using smart design methods (DFM/DFA/DFS).
      • 3-7 years of mechanical engineering experience in product development, sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related disciplines.
      • Demonstratable experience with stainless steel/aluminum, fabrication & welding techniques.
      • Experience supporting production products and resolving technical issues in a manufacturing environment.
      • Experience creating and implementing engineering changes (ECRs/ECNs).
      • Experience conducting root cause investigations and corrective actions.
      • Experience working with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
      • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

              PreferredQualifications:

              • PEng qualification or have eligibility to attain.
              • Experience in thermal analysis, CFD, structural FEA, and dFMEA
              • Demonstratable experience of pump & heat exchanger, valve selection & verification.
              • Familiarity with GD&T; experience with Solidworks PDM and Arena PLM
              • Base knowledge of data center cooling strategies
