Job Summary
The John Deere Service Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and scheduled maintenance of consumer products such as lawnmowers, snowblowers, John Deere Gators and other small products. The ideal candidate should have expertise and experience to use appropriate tools to successfully service most of these products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Ability to diagnose equipment utilizing diagnostic software and/or online technical manuals
-Perform component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning as part of the repair process
-Safely operate all equipment the dealership sells and services
-Resolve electrical and mechanical issues
-Help the dealership by participating in special programs, such as sales of service packages.
-Communicate repairs with customers so they have an understanding of the work being done
Position Qualifications
-High School Degree or equivalent
-5+ years of experience in a related field
-Ownership of necessary tools
-Electronic diagnostic ability
-Ability to perform all tasks without supervision
-Ability to lift 75 lbs repeatedly
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
-Ability to write diagnosis and work completed on routine reports and correspondence
-Ability to use a personal computer and various types of diagnostic equipment
