Position: Speech-Language Pathologist I/II / Advanced Speech-Language Pathologist I/II
Shift:
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Position Summary:
This role involves providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to a predominantly Native American population. The Speech-Language Pathologist will work with patients who have various developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities, delivering both inpatient and outpatient care. Weekend services are not available at this time.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and interpret evaluations and test results for patients ranging from birth through geriatric.
  • Document findings and treatment plans in the electronic health record.
  • Develop speech therapy treatment plans based on physician referrals or consultations.
  • Set realistic treatment goals based on the patient's physical and mental abilities, needs, and evaluation results.
  • Adjust and modify therapy plans in response to patient progress.
  • Document all aspects of patient assessment, treatment, follow-up, and discharge in patient records.
  • Select and construct therapies tailored to the patient's specific goals and needs.
  • Instruct patients, families, and staff on appropriate speech-language procedures and home programs to support therapeutic goals in daily activities.
  • Provide specialty services including swallowing evaluations, cognitive treatment, voice treatment, and pediatric therapy evaluations.
  • Participate in specialty clinics related to geriatric care and assistive technology.
  • Assist in the development of speech therapy services, including quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
  • Comply with certification requirements from relevant professional associations.
  • Provide training and in-services for students and staff education.
  • Collaborate with physical rehabilitation teams and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA accredited program.
  • Licensure: Current certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA. Must hold a valid and unrestricted Speech-Language Pathology license from any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
  • Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
Additional Information:
  • Orientation: Every 2 weeks.
  • COVID & Flu Exemptions: May be accepted upon submission of a declination form.
  • Housing Application: Must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the start date.
