Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist (Outpatient) - Rehabilitation Hospital
(Indianapolis, IN)

We are seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and highly organized Marketing Coordinator to support our marketing and communications initiatives.
Position Summary
Under management direction, The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Outpatient is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders for an inpatient and/or outpatient population age 15 and older, under the referral of a physician or qualified non-physician provider.
Key Responsibilities

  • Administers SLP evaluations to inpatients and outpatients and determines appropriate treatment programs and/or equipment needs, integrating age specific needs and issues for physical medicine rehabilitation population.
  • Provides comprehensive and accurate assessment for adults with speech, language, cognitive, voice, swallowing, and hearing impairment per policy for inpatients or outpatients.
  • Develops a patient-centered treatment plan for rehabilitation of patients based on the evaluation, patient goals and age-related issues/needs to optimize treatment and functional communication, cognition and/or swallowing.
  • Responsible for ensuring the treatment plan supports medical necessity and incorporates evidence-based treatments and outcome measures.
  • Accurately completes documentation in compliance with department and regulatory timelines to ensure a complete medical record that supports skilled services and appropriate medical necessity.
  • Charges appropriately for services provided and appropriately document outcome measures.
  • Provides clinical supervision, including but not limited to coordination of care and delegation of duties, to techs and students according to state/federal regulations and hospital guidelines.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association required
  • Speech-Language Pathologist IN state license required
  • Must have current CPR certification in accordance with AHA standards or be able to obtain within 4 weeks of start date
  • One (1) year of clinical experience in rehabilitation preferred but will consider Clinical Fellowship Year candidates
