Job description

Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) – School-Based AssignmentPosition Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) provides essential support to licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in the delivery of speech and language services within a school-based setting. The SLPA will assist with clinical, instructional, and documentation-related activities in accordance with established plans of care and under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and/or physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement speech and language therapy interventions as directed by the supervising SLP
  • Assist in the execution of individualized treatment plans
  • Support student progress through structured clinical and educational activities
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local guidelines, as well as professional standards of practice
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited SLPA program or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised clinical or fieldwork experience (or state-equivalent requirement)
  • Active and unrestricted Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license/certification in the state of practice
  • Demonstrated compliance with professional standards and ethical guidelines
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional SLPA experience
Health & Compliance Requirements
  • Completion of TB screening (PPD, questionnaire, or chest X-ray, as applicable)
  • Current health certification in accordance with state or contract requirements
  • Full compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations
