Job description

Job Title: Rewind / Slitter Operator - Paper Converting
Location: Lancaster / Depew, NY
Employment Type: Contract to Hire (Direct may be considered)
Industry: Printing
Compensation: $21/hr+ DOE
Schedule: 3rd shift (w/occasional OT). 3rd 12am - 8am. Train on 1st shift ( 8am - 4pm) until ready to move over.

What You'll Do:
Operate rewinding machines to slit, rewind, and finish material rolls to specified widths and lengths
Set up machines, including loading raw materials, adjusting blades, and configuring tension and speed settings
Monitor production to ensure quality standards are met (e.g., alignment, defects, consistency)
Inspect finished rolls for accuracy, labeling, and packaging requirements
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting of equipment
Maintain accurate production records and documentation
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding production needs or issues

What You'll Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required
At least 1x years experience in manufacturing, converting, printing, or similar environment preferred
At least 1x years recent experience reading job orders, measurements, and specifications
At least 1x years experience responsible for attention to detail and quality control
At least 1x years experience monitoring and adjusting machine settings using PLC/HMI control systems
