Position SummaryThe Sleep Technologist is responsible for conducting overnight sleep studies and related diagnostic procedures to evaluate and support the diagnosis of sleep disorders. This role ensures the accurate setup, monitoring, and documentation of polysomnography and other sleep testing while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and education. The Sleep Technologist works collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and the sleep clinic leadership team to deliver high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered care. This position plays a vital role in supporting clinical outcomes, operational excellence, and SENTA's commitment to advancing specialty healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and prepare patients for sleep studies, ensuring proper application of electrodes and monitoring devices in compliance with AASM standards.
- Educate patients on home and in-lab sleep studies, including procedures, duration, expectations, and proper use of HST equipment.
- Prepare, calibrate, and troubleshoot sleep study equipment to ensure accurate data collection and signal quality.
- Monitor sleep studies in real time, identify artifacts or inadequate signals, and make necessary adjustments throughout testing.
- Conduct sleep studies such as MSLT, MWT, parasomnia studies, and PAP or oxygen titrations following established clinical protocols.
- Document sleep stages, clinical events, patient observations, and procedural changes accurately in patient records.
- Ensure patient safety during studies and assist with therapeutic interventions, including positive airway pressure (PAP) and oxygen administration.
- Assist with scoring sleep studies and creating reports for physician review.
- Maintain and clean equipment according to safety and infection control guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to deliver high-quality diagnostic care.
- Identify supply needs and assist with routine equipment maintenance and inventory management.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay up to date on the latest practices in sleep technology and maintain required certifications.

RequirementsQualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of an accredited sleep technology education program or equivalent experience preferred.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification required.
