Position Summary and Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage compliance with quality management (QM) program policies and procedures.
- Engage with the Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer regarding quality management initiatives.
- Support QM staff orientation and job assignments.
- Facilitate QM involvement across the facility in hospital-wide measurement and assessment activities.
- Assist the Clinical Quality & Continual Survey Readiness Manager with nursing quality projects.
- Design and conduct concurrent or retrospective quality studies for medical staff.
- Analyze quality data from various sources and direct findings to relevant committees.
- Identify opportunities for performance enhancement within the organization.
- Assist in the annual evaluation of performance improvement, risk management, and patient safety programs.
- Hold meetings with departmental leaders to review data related to performance improvement activities.
- Review performance improvement initiatives monthly and quarterly to ensure all improvement opportunities are addressed.
- Maintain necessary performance improvement documentation to ensure compliance with JCAHO standards.
- Help compile quarterly reports for the Board and Medical Staff regarding performance improvement metrics.
- Oversee performance improvement project action plans in collaboration with the team.
- Participate in the aggregation and analysis of OPPE and FPPE, and enter quality data into physician performance profiles for reappointment.
- Establish reviews for surgical/invasive procedures to assess appropriateness.
- Provide administrative, technical, educational, and coordinating support to ensure effective and timely quality management activities.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of quality management activities.
- Coordinate a comprehensive grievance program to ensure timely resolution and communication of concerns.
- Investigate and analyze patient safety incidents, errors, and adverse outcomes.
- Serve as an educational resource for staff, physicians, leaders, and the board regarding relevant responsibilities.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelorโs Degree is required; a Masterโs Degree is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee or a compact state is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a Quality Manager is required.
TriStar Skyline Medical Center is a facility with over 350 beds, recognized as Tennessee's first comprehensive stroke center and a national leader in neuroscience.
