Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW

SupportED Tutoring is hiring AP Tutoring Coaches to work 1:1 with high school students preparing for College Board AP exams. You'll be a subject-matter expert who knows the AP curriculum inside and out — and who can teach it in a way that's structured, engaging, and results-driven.

Sessions are conducted in focused 25- or 55-minute blocks, following a unit-by-unit framework built into our Skool platform. If you love the feeling of watching a student finally understand something that used to trip them up, this role is for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver 1:1 AP tutoring sessions in 25-minute or 55-minute formats (no other session lengths)
  • Follow the unit-by-unit AP curriculum framework provided in our Skool portal
  • Administer and review assessments using Class Companion to track student understanding and exam readiness
  • Tailor pacing and focus areas to each student's current performance and exam date
  • Use Fireflies/Fathom to record sessions for quality review and student reference
  • Communicate student progress/flag concerns through designated Slack/ Discord channels
  • Submit session notes and updates following each coaching session

REQUIREMENTS

  • Deep knowledge of College Board AP curriculum and exam format for your subject(s) — you know what's tested, how it's tested, and how to prepare students efficiently
  • Prior tutoring, teaching, or academic coaching experience preferred
  • Strong at breaking down complex concepts clearly for high school students
  • Comfortable working within a structured curriculum rather than designing your own from scratch each time
  • Proficient with or willing to learn: Skool, Class Companion, Fireflies, Slack, Discord, Fathom
  • Punctual, responsive, and reliable — students and families are counting on you
  • Reliable internet and video setup for remote sessions and a Google Account

WHAT WE PROVIDE

  • Full access to our Skool portal with structured AP curriculum materials ready to use
  • Class Companion account for assessments and progress tracking
  • Fireflies AI for automatic session recording and transcription
  • Structured onboarding so you're fully prepared before your first student session
  • A peer coaching community to share ideas and get support
  • Flexible remote scheduling with consistent session structure

COMPENSATION

In addition to hourly tutoring, each Coach will be able to select the caseload of students they wish to take on during the Test Prep season. The primary goal is to help each student understand the exam and guide them through the entire 10-session program, giving them the best chance of scoring a 4 or 5 on their AP Exam.

Pay Structure

  • Hourly Pay: Tutoring Sessions will be compensated at an hourly rate of $35+
  • Test Prep Base Pay (Not Part of Hourly Tutoring): $300 per student for the Test Prep season.
  • Performance Bonus: An additional $50 per student is available when that student earns a 4 or 5 on their AP Exam.

Coaches choose their own caseload, so total compensation scales with the number of students taken on and each student's completion of the full program.
