About The Role
The Associate Photo Editor will sit on the editorial team, working closely with brand and photo editors to select, edit, and catalog images across several editorial properties. This is a hands-on role for someone with a great eye for photography who's excited to build skills in a fast-paced media environment.
Responsibilities
  • Research and select images to support editorial content produced daily
  • Edit images in Photoshop - color correction, resizing, and optimization for email and web - to match individual brand standards
  • Assist with light graphic design work within existing templates
  • Manage image metadata, rights clearances, and digital asset organization in our MAM system
  • Collaborate with editors, designers, and photo editors to align visual assets with written content
  • Review photo quality across brands and flag issues for broader review
  • Support photo editors on special projects as needed
  • Uphold high editorial standards, ensuring all visuals are clear, accurate, engaging, and trustworthy

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in photography, visual arts, journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and across the Adobe suite of tools
  • Solid understanding of image licensing, copyright, and rights management basics
  • Strong editorial judgement and an eye for great photography
  • Meticulous attention to detail in both editorial quality and execution
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously without sacrificing quality
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration

Preferred
  • 0-1 year of professional or internship experience in a photo editing or visual media context
  • Experience working with a digital asset management system
  • Familiarity with Figma, Airtable, and WordPress
  • A firm understanding of the digital media landscape and current visual and media trends
