Job Title: Skilled Construction Laborer
Department: Construction Operations
Reports To: Construction Manager / Site Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Skilled Construction Laborer to join our residential construction team. This position is responsible for performing a variety of construction tasks related to new home construction, remodeling, repairs, and residential rebuilding projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of residential construction practices, be safety-conscious, and have the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general construction labor on residential building projects.

  • Assist with site preparation, excavation, grading, and cleanup.

  • Install and repair framing, siding, drywall, flooring, roofing, windows, and doors.

  • Perform demolition and reconstruction activities as required.

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively.

  • Assist with concrete work, footings, foundations, and slab preparation.

  • Install insulation, trim, cabinetry, and finish carpentry components.

  • Assist licensed trades as needed, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and construction specifications.

  • Measure, cut, and assemble building materials accurately.

  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.

  • Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.

  • Identify and report safety hazards, material shortages, or construction defects.

  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment.

  • Participate in punch list completion and final project inspections.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of residential construction experience.

  • Working knowledge of residential building methods and materials.

  • Ability to read tape measures.

  • Experience using common construction tools and equipment.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing (if required).

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in multiple trades including framing, roofing, drywall, painting, flooring, siding, or finish carpentry.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

  • Experience with disaster recovery, insurance restoration, or remodeling projects.

  • Forklift, skid steer, or equipment operation experience.

  • First Aid/CPR certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.

Work Environment

  • Residential construction sites.

  • New construction, remodeling, and disaster recovery projects.

  • Local and occasional out-of-town travel may be required.

  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project demands.
