Job Summary:
The Manager of Lift Experience is fully accountable for the daily operations of Lift Experience, including Lift Operations and ticket/pass verification. This role drives performance excellence through a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and exceptional guest service.
This position provides leadership and direction to Lift Operations and Pass Scanning teams, while fostering engagement, accountability, and development across all levels. The Manager serves as a key operational partner, collaborating closely with Corporate Support Entities, Lift Maintenance, Product Sales and Services, IT, Ski Patrol, Resort Security, Ski & Ride School, and other departments to deliver a seamless mountain experience.
The role is responsible for workforce strategy, talent development, operational execution, and alignment with resort and enterprise priorities.

Job Responsibilities:

Core Leadership & Accountability

  • Own accountability for daily Lift Experience operations, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance with all company and regulatory standards
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline teams, fostering engagement, accountability, and high performance
  • Model and reinforce company values, leadership competencies, and service standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Lift Experience operations with internal departments and partners
  • Participate as a member of the Mountain Operations leadership team

Guest Experience & Service Delivery

  • Ensure exceptional guest service standards are consistently delivered across all Lift Operations and pass scanning functions
  • Proactively resolve guest issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Monitor and improve guest flow, wait times, and overall lift experience

Talent, Staffing & Workforce Management

  • Lead development of supervisors and leads through coaching, training and performance management
  • Assist with hiring and onboarding
  • Partner with senior leadership on performance management, including evaluations and evelopment planning
  • Develop staffing strategies and schedules to support year-round operations
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and recognition initiatives
  • Address and resolve employee relations concerns and performance issues

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure all Lift Experience operations comply with applicable standards and regulations (CPTSB, ANSI, OSHA, USFS)
  • Provide oversight of training programs to ensure safe and efficient lift operations and pass validation processes
  • Partner with Health & Safety teams to implement safety programs, policies, and initiativesMaintain operational readiness through consistent process evaluation and improvement

Financial & Resource Management

  • Assist in development and management of department budgets
  • Monitor labor and staffing levels to ensure efficient allocation of resources
  • Support cost control efforts while maintaining high standards of service and safety

Job Requirements:
Required:

  • High School Education
  • Previous experience within a Lift Operations or Scanning Team
  • Leadership Experience as a Supervisor/Manager
  • Strong understanding of MS Platforms  
  •  Intermediate Skier or Snowboarder

Preferred:

  • Experience with Lift Maintenance 
  • Experience with Product Sales and Services  
  • Understanding of Workday, Planful, Coupa or Capital Command Center

The expected pay range is $57,784.00 - $73,285.00 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
