Job Summary:

The Lift Operator plays a key role in delivering exceptional service to members and guests at The Hermitage Club. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of ski lifts, helping guests load, ride, and unload safely, and providing excellent customer service by answering questions and offering assistance. The Lift Operator must maintain a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor while ensuring guest safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Interaction:
    Greet members and guests warmly with a smile and enthusiasm. Offer assistance, provide recommendations, and answer any questions regarding trails and conditions.
  • Safety Oversight:
    Ensure the safe loading and unloading of guests on the ski lifts. Maintain a constant awareness of safety, making quick decisions when necessary to prevent accidents or issues.
  • Lift Operations:
    Oversee the proper functioning of the lifts, performing pre-operational checks and assisting with routine maintenance. Operate within the guidelines of The Hermitage Club’s safety policies.
  • Pass Verification:
    Verify lift tickets and passes as required, ensuring that all guests have the proper credentials before using the lifts.
  • Snow Removal & Maintenance:
    Assist in daily snow removal, work area setup, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the lift stations.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with the Ski Patrol and Lift Maintenance teams to address any operational issues or guest concerns that arise. Help other departments when operational needs require additional support.
  • Record Keeping:
    Maintain accurate logs and reports on daily lift operations, incidents, and any required maintenance.
