Position Overview

Invent Learning Hub (ILH) is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and growth-minded 6th Grade Math Teacher to join our innovative charter school community. The ideal candidate believes that all students can achieve at high levels in mathematics and is committed to building strong problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and confidence in every learner.

This teacher will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction grounded in the Indiana Academic Standards while supporting ILH’s mission of innovation, high expectations, and whole-child development.

Essential ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum
  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned 6th grade math instruction.
  • Teach key content areas including ratios and proportional reasoning, expressions and equations, geometry, statistics, and number systems.
  • Design lessons that promote conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world application.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with IEPs and English Learners.
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to drive instructional decisions.
  • Incorporate problem-based learning and hands-on activities to deepen student engagement.
Classroom Culture
  • Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and academically focused classroom environment.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families.
  • Promote perseverance, productive struggle, and a growth mindset in mathematics.
  • Maintain high expectations for academic achievement and character.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
  • Collaborate with grade-level and vertical math teams to ensure alignment and rigor.

QualificationsRequired:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
  • Valid Indiana teaching license (or ability to obtain one).

  • Commitment to equity and closing achievement gaps.
Preferred:
  • Experience teaching middle school math.
