Company Description: Six Sigma Microelectronics (the services division of Winslow Automation, Inc.) is the industry expert in the soldering and modification of high-reliability integrated circuits for space, telecommunications, military, and medical industries. We are currently hiring an Industrial Engineer (Intern).

Position Summary: Join the ever-growing and experienced Engineering team here at Six Sigma, and learn all about the niche field of microelectronic soldering. Learn about our custom processes cultivated over nearly 40 years, and quantify their efficiencies. Work with our diverse team, including Quality, Materials, Process, and Automation Engineering, to propose and implement practical solutions to any process problems you encounter, ensuring our products are the highest quality they can be.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support on projects as directed. Projects may include:
    • Generating cost models for various in-house processes.
    • Creating and executing factory floor plans.
    • Streamlining and optimizing processes regarding ergonomics, operator time, and general organization.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Present project results at the end of the summer to management and the rest of the Manufacturing Engineering team.

Qualifications:

Education: Currently pursuing a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent.

General Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with data analysis tools and methods.
  • Strong and logical trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Fast learner, self-motivated, and accomplishment driven.
  • Ability to work productively in a small-team setting, and occasionally work solo.
  • Skilled in use of MS Office computer applications.

Physical Attributes Required:

  • Sitting, standing, walking, and computer use up to 8 hours/day.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Physical ability to lift 25+ pounds.

This position requires handling of product or information which is subject to ITAR regulations. Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., a Green Card Holder).
