SENIOR CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERINTENDENT โ€“ ICI Projects (10+ Years of Experience)


We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Site Superintendent to join our team and oversee ICI (Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional) projects with a focus on municipal water and wastewater treatment plants. As a Senior Construction Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a proven track record of managing ICI projects.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing on-site operations, coordinating crews, and ensuring work progresses according to project plans, schedules and deadlines.
  • Enforcing health and safety as it complies with Ontario and company safety standards while conducting inspections and addressing hazards to maintain a secure work environment on a daily basis.
  • Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and labourers, ensuring materials arrive on time and subcontractors and labourers complete the work according to quality standards.
  • Reviewing shop drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure construction aligns with design requirements and engineering standards.
  • Troubleshooting on-site challenges, resolving conflicts, and adapting plans to address unexpected delays or issues.
  • Maintaining clear communication with project managers, clients, consultants and subcontractors to provide progress updates and address concerns.
  • Tracking expenses, approving invoices, and managing resources to keep the project within budget.
  • Ensuring proper documentation, including permits, inspection reports, and daily logs, to support project compliance and accountability.
  • Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, codes, and standards, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ยท 10+ years of experience as a lead construction site superintendent, preferably in the ICI construction industry.

ยท Proven track record of successfully completing ICI projects from initiation to completion, on time and within budget.

ยท  Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

ยท  Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, stakeholders, and team members.

ยท  Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

ยท  Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

ยท  Proficient in construction software Procore and other Microsoft software programs.

ยท  Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, codes, and standards related to ICI construction projects.
