Associate Director Of Community Programs

Optum Nevada is seeking an associate director of community programs to oversee a high-performing, multi-site care delivery operation focused on improving patient outcomes, enhancing quality performance, and supporting value-based care initiatives. This leadership role will have indirect responsibility for approximately 70-80 team members and direct leadership of 6 operational leaders, driving performance across a large and complex primary care environment.

This position is ideal for a healthcare leader with a solid background in primary care, adult medicine, internal medicine, health plan partnerships, and operational excellence who can leverage analytics, influence change, and build high-performing teams to achieve ambitious organizational goals.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will:

  • Lead operational strategy and execution across a multi-site physician practice supporting Medicare advantage and value-based care populations
  • Drive performance against annual goals of 30,000+ patient visits and quality interventions

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic and operational initiatives across a multi-site primary care and value-based care organization to achieve quality, financial, and patient experience goals
  • Partner with physician and executive leadership to drive performance in Medicare advantage, HEDIS, STARS, and population health programs
  • Leverage data analytics, financial modeling, and business intelligence to identify growth opportunities, optimize operations, and support new service development
  • Oversee operational performance and resource planning across multiple business units
  • Lead organizational change, workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and leadership coaching to build high-performing teams
  • Develop and execute growth strategies focused on patient engagement, market expansion, membership retention, and payer partnerships
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and industry standards while promoting operational excellence
  • Represent the organization with community partners, healthcare stakeholders, and industry organizations to strengthen relationships and advance strategic objectives
  • Accountable for leadership oversight of managers and operational teams, driving accountability, performance, and continuous improvement

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent healthcare leadership experience
  • 5+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience in one or more of the following: primary care, internal medicine, adult medicine, health plan operations, population health, value-based care operations, medical group operations
  • Experience leading managers and large or multi-site operational teams
  • Experience working with Medicare advantage and payer-driven programs
  • Solid knowledge of healthcare quality and performance measures, including HEDIS, STARS, RAF, and population health initiatives
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational leadership, business analytics, process improvement, and change management
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or related field
  • Lean, Six Sigma, project management, or similar operational improvement certification
  • Experience supporting risk-bearing or value-based care organizations
  • Experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives across complex healthcare organizations

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
