Position Summary
The Site Controller is responsible for all day-to-day accounting operations for a growing geotechnical construction division and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely operation of financial matters of this division. This is a hands-on role managing all aspects of the accounting cycle - including accounts payable and receivable, month-end close, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and audit support. The role operates in a hybrid capacity, splitting time between the Westminster HQ and regional site locations, with approximately 50% travel to various sites to support on-the-ground accounting operations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own and execute all site-level accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivables, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes for the site, ensuring deadlines are met and results are accurate.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including inventory, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial reporting packages and supporting schedules to corporate accounting.
  • Ensure all accounting entries comply with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Monitor and validate transactions impacting the general ledger (e.g., payroll, purchasing, inventory).
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
  • Collaborate with site operations and corporate teams on financial reporting, system improvements, and process consistency.
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested by the Corporate Controller.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA and engineering and construction experience a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-site or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communicator able to partner across departments and functions.
  • Comfortable with hybrid work, splitting time between Westminster HQ and site locations, with approximately 50% travel.

US pay range for this role.
$110,000-$135,000 USD
