Job description

Maintenance Technician (Evenings and Weekends)

South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront is looking for a Maintenance Technician to work evenings and possibly weekends. If you are a highly motivated professional looking to grow your career, consider joining our awesome team. As the Maintenance Technician, you will directly support the Chief Engineer in all Hotel maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

    • Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures. Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues.
    • Replace and program televisions as needed.
    • Make repairs to the hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, and replace motors.
    • Perform furniture repair.
    • Perform plumbing repairs (i.e., clogged drains, replace washers, change handles, drain fittings, changing toilet seats, etc.).
    • Trace and repair all types of water lines.
    • Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
    • Perform and maintain work to local, state, and Federal codes.
    • Test, clean, and basic repairs for swimming pools and spas.
    • Paint designated areas.
    • Responding to and completing guest requests in a timely and professional manner.
    • Performing well under pressure situations with time demands and working overtime when needed.
    • Daily Maintenance projects

Qualifications

    • Technical and Mechanical experience
    • Experience in a hotel or a related field is preferred.
    • Ability to communicate clearly 
    • Self-Motivated
    • HVAC training preferred
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
    • Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift, or carry supplies, equipment or tools weighing up to 50lbs. occasionally.
    • Must be able to work in a fast paced and customer service-orientated environment; to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
    • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
    • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
    • Overall Reliable, this is a key factor
