Job description

At Wizards of the Coast, we connect people around the world through play and imagination. From our genre-defining games like Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons to our growing multiverse, we continue to innovate and build new ways to foster friendship and connection. That's where you come in!

The Principal Data Analyst, Dungeons & Dragons will modernize our forecasting capability and help lead demand planning for the brand-transitioning from trend- and judgment-based methods to a bottom-up approach that improves in-year accuracy and decision-making. This role partners closely with Product, Commercial, Finance, and IT to build scalable forecasting models, operationalize reliable data signals, and implement a repeatable forecasting process with strong governance, transparency, and adoption.

This is a hybrid role requiring three days a week in our Renton, WA office.

What You'll Do:

  • Build, validate, and maintain demand forecasting models that incorporate leading indicators and key drivers across channels (product launches, promotions, pricing, platform/channel mix, marketing inputs, seasonality, and supply/transit constraints).
  • Partner with IT/data engineering to define and operationalize data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, QA, monitoring, documentation) and set data quality standards to ensure reliable forecast inputs.
  • Partner with Product and Finance teams highlighting forecast drivers, changes vs. long range plan, key risks/opportunities, and recommended actions to expand and improve the D&D product portfolio.
  • Own the D&D commercial "single view" across physical, D&D Beyond (subs + D2C where applicable), video games, and licensing/royalties-standardizing important metric definitions, building executive scorecards, and ensuring accurate inputs from partner organizations.

What You'll Bring:

  • 4+ years of experience leading detailed forecasting work or statistical analysis with demonstrated impact on planning and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in SQL and statistical programming in Python or R, plus strong Excel skills for business-facing analysis and reconciliation.
  • Experience working with modern data stacks and analytics workflows (e.g., cloud data warehouses like Snowflake; scheduled pipelines; QA/monitoring practices).
  • Strong partner management and communication skills; ability to drive alignment across Product Designers, Finance, IT, and commercial partners and communicate clearly to executive audiences.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in revenue operations, demand forecasting, commercial analytics, or data science in a complex commercial environment.
  • Background in consumer products, retail/eCommerce, subscriptions, entertainment, games, or adjacent industries.
  • Interest in (or curiosity about) Dungeons & Dragons and a willingness to learn the product ecosystem and customer motivations.
