Responsibilities and Duties
WHO/WHAT: This isn't just childcare - it's becoming the steady heartbeat behind a busy, loving home. If "I already handled it" is your personality trait, keep reading. This busy, devoted single dad is searching for an exceptional household manager/nanny to help keep life running smoothly while supporting his three active, kind-hearted children and their full schedules. Dad is incredibly involved and deeply connected to his kids. This role was never created to replace Dad's presence - it was created to protect and enrich it, giving him the support needed to fully enjoy the time he treasures most with his children. But with overlapping sports, school commitments, travel, and activities often pulling everyone in different directions, he's realized he could truly benefit from an extra set of capable hands. The family lives on a beautiful 17-acre property designed around what the kids love most: riding bikes, playing sports, exploring outside, and simply being together. While schedules are busy, the family vibe is refreshingly grounded and low-key. The children are active, sweet, and full of personality, with interests ranging from sports and biking to chess, art, and imaginative play. Dad hopes to find someone who will genuinely engage with the children while also encouraging independence, responsibility, and strong character. Dad currently has the children 6 out of every 14 days, but is intentionally offering a full-time position by incorporating meaningful household management support during non-childcare hours. He deeply values consistency and hopes to find someone interested in growing with their family long-term - ideally for the next 5+ years.
The role is a blend of childcare support and household management, with a strong focus on transportation, after-school logistics, and keeping the household running smoothly. Dad has clear systems in place and the position follows a 2-week rotating schedule. A family vehicle will be provided for transporting the children. Long-term, the family may also purchase a 2nd home in Upper St. Clair to create even more ease around the children's school and activities. During non-childcare hours, responsibilities may include laundry, tidying, vacuuming, sweeping, light meal prep, errands, organization, calendar management, booking flights for an upcoming vacation, handling school forms and registrations, coordinating appointments and activities, grabbing recital flowers or last-minute birthday gifts, and helping manage the many moving pieces that keep a busy family running smoothly. Weekly summary emails and proactive communication are also appreciated. Grandma also lives in the home and is incredibly active and involved, but the family's hope is for her to simply enjoy being Grandma rather than managing household logistics.
Week 1:
โ€ข Monday: 7 AM-4 PM (flexible end time depending on preferred guaranteed hours)
โ€ข Tuesday: Flexible 4-6 hours for household management/administrative support
โ€ข Wednesday: 2 PM-7/8 PM (afterschool activities, hw, dinner prep, and preparing for the next day)
โ€ข Thursday: 7 AM-7 PM (mix of before and after-school childcare help and household help)
โ€ข Friday: 7 AM-4 PM flexible end time depending on preferred guaranteed hours)
Week 2:
โ€ข Monday & Tuesday: Off
โ€ข Wednesday: Flexible 4-6 hours for household management/administrative support
โ€ข Thursday: 2 PM-7/8 PM (school pick, hw support, afterschool activities, and dinner)
โ€ข Friday: 7 AM-7 PM (help with children before and after school and house management mid-day)
One weekend day is typically needed
THE IDEAL NANNY IS...Warm, trustworthy, proactive, and highly capable. You're the type of person who naturally steps in where needed, keeps life moving smoothly behind the scenes, and can confidently juggle multiple moving pieces without becoming overwhelmed. You understand how to balance being playful and engaging while also giving older children appropriate independence and space. The family would especially value someone polished, intelligent, and confident serving as a strong role model for growing children. A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional childcare experience is preferred. This role would be perfect for someone who loves an active family life, enjoys managing logistics, and takes pride in creating calm within a busy household. The ideal fit is organized, nurturing, emotionally intelligent, and deeply dependable - someone who can become a steady, valued extension of this family for years to come.
