We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic engineer to lead the Simulation Team in the Simulation, Integration and Test Department with a passion for launching hardware into space and a desire to revolutionize the space industry. Our ideal candidate thrives in a highly collaborative environment and enjoys finding ways to innovate and make processes more efficient.
In this role you will coordinate simulation requirements with internal and external customers and drive design, development, maintenance, and support of all simulation tools. You will also manage tasking of Simulation Team engineers, maintain product roadmaps, and convey progress to upper management.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 5-10 engineers with strong leadership skills
  • Lead design, development, delivery, maintenance, and support of simulation products supporting internal teams, external customers, and mission operations, including on-orbit support, rehearsals, and training environments
  • Follows SIT software development processes to ensure fast and quality releases of core simulation products
  • Maintain and improve the York spacecraft simulation suite nterface and integrate other subsystem groups models into simulation
  • Be available to support large test initiatives with out internal stakeholders
  • Receive feature requests and bug reports and prioritize them appropriately to align the simulation roadmap with internal customer roadmaps
  • Relay simulation team plans, progress, and needs to upper management regularly
  • Develop and maintain simulation documentation and user guides for standardized model integration, component development, and scenario design
  • Implement software development, testing, and CI/CD practices across all simulation products that meet division and department standards for software

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency with C++ or Python
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Git and Agile software development practices & tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a Linux environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with bash scripting
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Docker, Docker Compose, & containerization
  • Experience with Full Stack development
  • Familiar with writing test documentation, such as test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks while delivering according to program milestones and deliverables
  • Can proactively identify problems and communicate them clearly to leadership and/or more senior engineers
  • Proficient at writing and reading technical documentation
  • Understanding and experience with API usage
  • Ability to interface with and handle flight hardware
  • Experience with in-the-loop testing (software, processor, and hardware)

Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related field
  • Experience with product and people management
  • Aerospace model development and analysis
  • Simulation model verification and validation experience
  • DevOps background, especially using GitLab CI/CD
  • Familiarity with the Space Domain and satellite operations.
  • Networking concepts like UDP/TCP
  • Embedded development
  • Active Top Secret security clearance or ability to obtain
