Salary Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience up to $40,000 Pay Basis Bi-weekly Job Summary
The Simulation Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining skills lab equipment, supplies, media, computers, and materials related to simulation learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for proper setup, reset, operation, breakdown, and technical support of simulation activities.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance checks and services of simulation equipment while adhering to all established protocols. Communicate repairs and troubleshooting to appropriate personnel.
  • Operate patient simulator for simulation activities. Operation will be based off of other ongoing priorities.
  • Assist and train instructors and simulation facilitators on simulation equipment.
  • Maintain current knowledge of simulation equipment, supplies, media, computers, moulage, and materials related to simulation learning.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Technical or Associate's degree in supporting disciplines such as biomedical, medical, electronics, computer information technologies, supply management, or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or higher degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of simulation-based experience in the healthcare profession.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency with PC applications, desktop, laptops, and relevant software application.
  • Ability to use audio/visual equipment.
  • Must present with excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Must work effectively both in a team setting and individual setting.
  • Must be able to be proactive and take initiative.
Other Requirements
  • Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of section 51.2 15 Texas Education Code.
Workplace and Eligibility Conditions
  • Varied laboratory and stock room conditions, involving mechanical, electrical, equipment movement, and lifting hazards. 
  • Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time, be able to move between multiple locations, and lift 50 plus pounds.
