The company designs, develops, and operates hospitality-driven destinations to host gatherings of all kinds, ranging from small corporate meetings to immersive brand activations and beyond. We love bringing people together in person, and that passion for great experiences extends to our employees as well. If you're interested in creating inspiring moments of connection, consider joining our team.

House Director | NeueHouse Madison Square, NYC

Convene Hospitality Group is seeking a visionary House Director (Director of Operations) to lead the ongoing operations and cultural evolution of our NeueHouse Madison Square location. As the strategic and operational leader of this iconic space, you are responsible for the holistic success of the 'House', encompassing commercial and operational ownership, P&L accountability, member and guest experience, creative programming, and physical asset management.

You will provide executive oversight to a multidisciplinary team encompassing Membership & Event Sales, Membership Experience, Event Operations, Food & Beverage Programs, AV Production, and Facilities, ensuring every activation is executed with the precision and hospitality synonymous with the NeueHouse brand. Reporting to Convene Hospitality Group Leadership you will drive integrated business performance and operational excellence by leading high-impact cross-functional initiatives, while delivering elevated hospitality and cultivating a trendsetting brand that defines the global standard for creative community building.

This is a rare opportunity to be a founding pillar of a brand evolution. You will lead the charge in creating an environment where world class hospitality meets cultural innovation. You are the custodian of an iconic landmark, transforming it into a living, breathing ecosystem where influential creators, entrepreneurs and innovators belong. You don't follow trends, you set them.

About NeueHouse Madison Square

Located in the heart of the Flatiron District, NeueHouse Madison Square is a landmark of New York's creative scene, housed in a historic 1913 industrial building that once served as an auction house. NeueHouse Madison Square offers a timeless design, emotive experiences, and elevated hospitality. Across eight floors, it offers special event spaces, membership lounges, private office suites, and a members-only restaurant and bar, all artfully blending an edgy, industrial aesthetic with the comfort and warmth of a designer residence.

What You'll Do:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide executive direction to multidisciplinary teams including Membership & Event Sales, Membership Experience, Food & Beverage, AV Production, and Facilities.
  • Act as the cultural steward ensuring every activation is executed with precision and hospitality synonymous with both the brand and elevated hospitality standards.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.

Commercial Performance

  • Partner with CHG commercial leadership to craft a sales and marketing strategy to drive top line revenue growth across membership, private workspace, meetings & events and food & beverage outlets.
  • Build and lead on-site sales and marketing team to support a holistic go-to-market strategy supported by CHG centralized brand, marketing and global sales organizations.
  • Drive a high performance sales culture by aggressively scaling Membership, Meetings & Events, and Multi-outlet F&B through innovative programming and integrated revenue generating initiatives that maximize total property growth.
  • Focus on optimizing yield through pricing strategies, occupancy management, and the conversion of high production events that align with the brand's market position.
  • Manage and balance between top-line growth and bottom-line health, ensuring the operational framework remains high-performing.

Operational Excellence

  • Implement and drive a versatile service philosophy that ensures every interaction from catering and intimate community gatherings to high-production, large scale events is transformed to bespoke, tailored, world-class experience.
  • Ensure the venue is consistently operationally ready by overseeing and monitoring front of house operations, back of house logistics, and physical brand standards.
  • Enforce rigorous venue policies, safety protocols, and compliance with local health and liquor regulations.

Food & Beverage Delivery

  • Architect and oversee the F&B program that balances high-end simplicity with operational flexibility, ensuring the service model can seamlessly scale to support everything from social lounging to formal, bespoke private dining experiences.
  • Seamlessly manage the operational flow across multi outlets including the restaurant and cafe- an integration of breakfast, lunch and cafe classics as well as the private dining room and bar, ensuring each maintains a culinary seasonal rotation, elevated service and peak performance.
  • Navigate the complexity of a multi-faceted venue by balancing high-level business orchestration with active floor presence. Lead from the front to ensure refined service, managing the "connective tissue" between culinary and front of house.

Financial Management

  • Take comprehensive ownership of the property's Profit and Loss statement, meticulously balancing premium operational delivery with sustainable bottom-line health.
  • Analyze financial reports, track KPIs, and adjust operations to meet or exceed goals.
  • Partner with sales to drive membership growth and maximize event profitability

Revenue Management

  • Drive a high performance sales culture by aggressively scaling Membership, Meetings & Events, and Multi-outlet F&B through innovative programming and integrated revenue generating initiatives that maximize total property growth.
  • Ownership of the property's revenue engine, partnering with Commercial teams to design and execute high-impact growth strategies across all business lines.
  • Focus on optimizing yield through pricing strategies, occupancy management, and the conversion of high production events that align with the brand's market position.
  • Manage and balance between top-line growth and bottom-line health, ensuring the operational framework remains high-performing.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Act as the primary conduit for members; you are not just a point of contact, but a trusted partner who understands their world and ensures the House is a sanctuary for their best work.
  • Foster deep connections and relationships within the creative community. You manage a network, you weave a community- ensuring the House serves as a catalyst for collaboration and diverse perspectives.
  • Architect a space that is inclusive and safe, ensuring diversity is not just a metric, but the foundational pulse of the House. You will proactively identify and remove barriers to belonging, ensuring every member feels valued.
  • Nurture relationships with all stakeholders ensuring the brand's creative mission comes to life in the physical space.

Strategic Planning & Growth

  • Partner with leadership to co-author long term growth strategies. You will implement industry-leading best practice to ensure the House is the benchmark for innovation in the creative community space.
  • Maintain a full view of global industry shifts, proactively evolving the House to ensure it remains dynamic and competitive.
  • Evolve the operational framework to ensure business is running at peak efficiency and effectiveness. You will refine the connective tissue between departments to optimize workflows, labor models and resource allocation.

What We Look For:

  • 7+ years of senior leadership experience in event venue management, membership, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of achieving financial targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong operational expertise in event logistics, food & beverage programs, and technical production.
