Job description

Full- time and Part-Time availability: Join a Team Driven by Purpose, Mastery, and Growth

At Counseling Center of Grayslake (CCG), we believe therapy is more than a profession—it’s a mission. Our work is rooted in a deep WHY: to empower individuals, couples, and families to create real, lasting change in their lives. We don’t just offer therapy. We build a team of skilled, passionate clinicians who help clients make meaningful progress.

We are looking for therapists who are driven by purpose, passionate about their craft, and eager to grow. You’ll be part of a team that values clinical excellence, collaboration, and ongoing learning. If you thrive in an environment where professional development is prioritized, relationships matter, and impact is measurable—we want to meet you.

Why Join Us?

At CCG, we don’t just provide therapy—we cultivate mastery and autonomy. Our clinicians receive hands-on training, regular supervision, and access to a team that values both clinical rigor and human connection. We believe great therapy happens when therapists feel supported, energized, and fulfilled.

That’s why we invest in continuous learning, peer collaboration, and a strong sense of community. You won’t be left figuring things out on your own. We provide the structure, mentorship, and resources you need to sharpen your skills and grow.

We also recognize that outpatient therapy can feel isolating. That’s why we foster connection and team engagement with quarterly gatherings, collaborative training, and a supportive workplace culture. You’ll have a team that has your back. You’ll feel challenged but never alone.

Whether you’re an experienced clinician or an eager learner, you’ll find mentorship, structure, and room to grow here.

Your Role

Client-Centered Care: Maintain a caseload of 8-20 clients per week, providing individual, couple, family, or group psychotherapy.

Flexible Scheduling: Evening and/or Saturday availability is required.

Evidence-Based Practice: Utilize CBT, REBT, Motivational Interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and similar models.

Comprehensive Clinical Documentation: Complete biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and efficiently.

Collaborative Approach: Work with external professionals (physicians, psychiatrists, school staff) to ensure the best outcomes for your clients.

For the right candidate, this position could transition into a full-time role, which includes all the benefits of part-time staff, plus generous health and dental benefits.

Who You Are

We’re not just looking for qualifications—we’re looking for mindset. The ideal candidate is:

Purpose-Driven: Passionate about therapy as a tool for transformation.

Lifelong Learner: Seeks continuous training, values supervision, and embraces deliberate practice.

Relationship-Oriented: Excels at building trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.

Resilient & Balanced: Understands self-care and can work diligently without burnout.

Growth-Focused: Open to feedback, eager to improve, and dedicated to clinical excellence.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in psychology, counseling, or social work.

• Previous experience in a mental health setting preferred, but new clinicians eager to learn are highly encouraged to apply.

• Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.

• A team player who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment.

What We Offer

Stability & Fair Pay

This is NOT a commission split. This is a stable W-2 position, with hourly pay every two weeks.

PTO accrual for every hour worked.

Part-time clinicians are eligible after one year to participate in a 401(k) with a 4% employer match.

Professional Growth & Training

Extensive, paid hands-on training in CBT, REBT, and evidence-based therapy models.

Supervision at multiple levels (individual, small group, and all-staff) to sharpen clinical skills.

Workplace Perks & Wellness

A beautifully designed, therapist-friendly workspace (because environment matters).

A well-stocked employee break room with snacks and soft drinks to keep you fueled during sessions.

Wellness perks, including a Peloton membership, Peloton Treads for Walk & Talk Therapy, and a Peloton Rower.

A culture of camaraderie, including a ping pong table—used for clients AND for fun with colleagues!

Connection & Team Support

Quarterly team get-togethers to foster team unity and combat isolation often felt in outpatient therapy.

Apply Only If...

You are deeply passionate about helping clients achieve real change.

You love learning and want to continuously improve your clinical skills.

You thrive in a team environment and want to be part of something bigger.

You are curious, self-motivated, and driven by purpose.
