Job Description

The Senior Trade Specialist role will manage, prioritize and perform complex fixed-income trading operations. This position will include operational support to the wealth management products group in the setup and trading of new issue structured products. The senior specialist will also execute fixed-income agency orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, prioritize and perform complex trading operations in support of the fixed income trading desk including: generating reports, billing trades, processing trade requests received from business partners, monitoring and triaging rejected trades, and testing or analyzing technology problems and updates. Accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness are critical to managing the desk's workflow.
  • Monitor daily reporting submissions to external regulatory agencies (MSRB and TRACE).
  • Provide new issue operational support (offering setup and trading) to Products team for structured products, working cross organizationally and with outside business partners.
  • Execute fixed-income orders timely, accurately and within all industry and firm rules and regulations. Analyze current market volatility, market structures, and other relevant characteristics and variables to optimize the client execution price.


Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active Series 7 or the ability to obtain within 120 days.
  • Strong attention to detail, including demonstrated ability to meet accuracy standards in a high-volume situation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize time-sensitive workflow.
  • Ability to work efficiently with multiple business partners.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working with various levels of the organization.
  • Basic understanding and proficiency in Microsoft Office software including OneNote.
  • Experience with various systems, including BETA, Tradeweb, SIMON, and Thomson ONE.
  • Sound understanding of the financial markets.
  • Ability to perform in a highly stressful, time-sensitive, and regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of the differing market structures and variables which impact pricing for each.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in obtaining Series 57 license.

  • Experience with regulatory websites preferred.

  • Awareness/understanding of process procedure review and development.

  • Basic understanding of structured products.

  • Basic understanding of fixed income securities.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $66,700-$91,700/year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
