JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Coordinator plans and coordinates the activities and functions of the John Deaver Drinko Academy for American Political Institutions and Civic Culture and the Simon Perry Center for Constitutional Democracy.
NATURE OF WORK: This position is responsible for coordinating, planning, organizing, promoting, executing, and evaluating activities and functions for the John Deaver Drinko Academy and the Simon Perry Center. Job responsibilities require the ability to communicate effectively and interact with both internal and external stakeholders to build program support. Results are defined by unit supervisors and both the programs', and the institution's mission, vision, and strategies; existing practices are used as guidelines to determine specific work methods. The Program Coordinator carries out work activities independently; supervisors are available to resolve problems. Problems faced in this position are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation.
Plans, develops, coordinates, administers, and executes development, implementation and assessment for the John Deaver Drinko Academy and the Simon Perry Center.
Promotes events for both the John Deaver Drinko Academy and the Simon Perry Center.
Manages and maintains collaborations and partnerships with various institutional departments and programs, as well as resources outside the institution such as professional organizations to help build and leverage expertise and resources.
Provides resources and expertise to internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to serving on campus committees, delivering activities, and serving as an advisor.
Researches, compiles, prepares, and composes analysis, data, reports, and documents in support of specialized focus areas.
Manages business processes and personnel administration for both the Drinko Academy and the Simon Perry Center; processes complex financial transactions, budget adjustments and revenue transfers among entities including the State, MURC, and the Marshall University Foundation, Inc.
Also responsible for budget reporting and grant reporting functions.
Prepares and/or assists in the planning and preparation of annual organizational budgets and expenditure schedules.
Monitors spending for both the Drinko Academy and the Simon Perry Center to maintain budget goals; prepares encumbrances and requisitions.
Prepares all billings for accounts receivable; monitors spending from State, Foundation and MURC accounts.
Keeps the Executive Director of the Drinko Academy and the Director of the Simon Perry Center informed of the financial status of the programs.
Overseas and supervises student employees, interns, and volunteers; handles issues involving TimeClockPlus (TCP). Manages all human resource activities and paperwork.
Manages both offices' social media accounts and websites.

Physical Demands

Drinko Academy and Simon Perry initiatives frequently involve staging events in various venues, which require loading, transporting, unloading, and reloading of wagons, carts, signage, and easels.
