Job description

Position Description The City of Inver Grove Heights seeks Fitness Instructors to provide safe, effective, fun and easy to follow fitness classes and programs to members and guests of our Community Center. Must be able to deal with people effectively, exhibit responsible judgment, understand and follow oral and written direction and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the public. Must be 18 years of age or older and pass a background check.

All positions require current CPR and First Aid certification plus the specific certifications listed for the positions below. Positions are Part-time 1- 20 hours per week. Childcare and complimentary fitness membership available.

A completed City application must be submitted online. EOE. Essential Job Functions Aqua Fitness Instructor Teach Aqua Exercise, Arthritis Water Exercise, Aqua Zumba, Deep Water Exercise, Silver Splash or another format.

Requires an Aqua certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g. AFFA, AEA, Silver Sneakers or Zumba). Cardio Fitness Instructor Teach Cardio Kickboxing, Cycle, Step, Pound Drums Alive, Zumba and/or Zumba Gold

Requires a Group Fitness Instructor Certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g. ACE, AFFA or NETA) and specialty certificate/training in the desired format. Group Strength Fitness Instructor Teach Barre Fusion, Body Blast, Cardio Sculpt, HIIT, Muscle Mix and STRONG by Zumba

Requires a Group Fitness Instructor Certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g. ACE, AFFA or NETA) and specialty certificate/training in the desired format. Small Group Fitness Instructor Teach Boot Camp, Strength Training Circuit, RX, Kettle Bell or similar format

Requires a Personal Training Certificate from a nationally recognized organization (e.g. ACE, ACSM, NASM or NETA, and a certificate for TRX, Kettlebell or Strength Training. Active Adult or Silver Sneakers Fitness Instructor Teach Silver Sneakers, Silver Sneakers Yoga or Back to Balance classes

Requires an exercise certification from Silver Sneakers and a Group Fitness Instructor certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g. ACE, AFFA or NETA).
