PART-TIME JOB OPENING
Ackerman SFC Aqua Group Fitness Seasonal Instructor
Hours: Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Weekend mornings.
Summary
Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center is a dynamic, community-focused facility dedicated to promoting health and wellness. We are seeking energetic, knowledgeable, and certified Aqua Group Fitness Instructors to join our team.
We are looking to expand our aquatic fitness offerings at Sunset Pool and introduce engaging water-based classes that meet the needs and interests of our community. As an Aqua Group Fitness Instructor, you will lead safe, effective, and motivating aquatic workouts designed for participants of varying fitness levels and abilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for water fitness, strong communication skills, and a commitment to creating an inclusive, positive class environment.
Responsibilities
  • Lead aqua group fitness classes according to the established aquatic schedule and program guidelines.
  • Design and implement safe, effective, and engaging water-based workouts for all fitness levels.
  • Provide clear verbal instruction, demonstrations, modifications, and encouragement to participants.
  • Ensure participant safety while promoting proper technique and water fitness principles.
  • Foster a welcoming, motivating, and supportive aquatic environment that promotes member success.
  • Maintain awareness of current trends and best practices in aquatic fitness programming.

Qualifications
  • Current Group Fitness and/or Aqua Fitness Certification.
  • Specialized aquatic certifications preferred (AFAA Aqua, Aqua Zumba, WATERinMOTION, etc.).
  • Current CPR, AED, and Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong knowledge of aquatic exercise principles, anatomy, and water safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive, inclusive class experience for all participants.
  • Previous experience teaching aqua group fitness classes preferred.
  • Knowledge of proper aquatic equipment use and safety protocols.
