We're seeking to fill the key position of Sign Installation Assistant. We're looking for a highly-motivated individual with an interest in learning all aspects of commercial sign installation which is primarily outdoors and often requires the use of power tools, moderate - heavy lifting and the operation of a bucket truck to assist the lead sign installer. This role may include working safely in a bucket operating up to 45' above ground. He/she must be able to perform very diversified duties every day including: apply vinyl, install signs of all types, operate bucket truck and servicing electrical signs. The ideal candidate can use this role as a springboard to become a lead sign installer or towards other roles within the organization.
Since this position includes customer contact at the work location the right person for this job needs to be responsive to their needs and to exercise some degree of diplomacy. This position is for indoor and outdoor installation; we work in all types of weather including heat, rain and cold. Position supports production in the shop on an as needed basis.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Driving and operating the bucket truck or other equipment typically within a 45 minute range with occasional 1hr+ range install sites
  • Custom site set up (includes mounting, bolting, hanging brackets, digging holes, placing posts etc.)
  • Conducting Site Surveys for both permits and pre-sale for customer quotation
  • Perform minor electrical work associated with sign installation and service
  • Maintain an organized bucket truck by keeping up with tools and hardware needed for current and upcoming install jobs.
  • Use company software to access and update project status
  • Provide details for job time-in/time-out as well as other noteworthy project details.
  • Support shop production on as-needed, weather-related basis.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School GED or equivalent
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Current drivers license with clean record
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy weight
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical and carpentry skills
  • Read and use measuring tape and Spike measuring tools
  • Read project digital drawings and work orders
  • Ability to work with limited supervision required
  • Occasionally lift over 40 pounds
