Dura Architectural Signage is seeking an experienced, dependable sign installer to join our full-time installation team in Long Island City, Queens.

We are an established architectural signage company working throughout New York City and the surrounding area. Our projects include hospitals, universities, corporate offices, residential buildings, schools, retail environments and other commercial facilities.

This is a hands-on field position for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work efficiently and professionally on active job sites, and is comfortable solving installation challenges in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Install interior and exterior architectural signage throughout New York City and the surrounding area.
  • Install ADA and code signage, dimensional letters, directories, room identification signs, wall-mounted panels, vinyl graphics and other custom signage.
  • Accurately lay out and install signs based on drawings, elevations and field measurements.
  • Drill and anchor into drywall, masonry, concrete, metal and other common building surfaces.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts and boom lifts when required.
  • Load, unload and safely transport signage, tools and installation materials.
  • Maintain clean and professional job sites.
  • Photograph completed installations and clearly document any incomplete work or field conditions.
  • Communicate professionally with project managers, building representatives, contractors and clients.
  • Work independently when appropriate and as part of a two-person or larger installation crew.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with professional installation, sign, construction, millwork, glazing, electrical sign or related field experience.

The strongest candidates will have:

  • Previous professional sign installation experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools.
  • Experience installing into a variety of wall and building surfaces.
  • Ability to read basic architectural drawings, elevations and installation plans.
  • Good judgment when dealing with unexpected field conditions.
  • Experience operating scissor lifts and boom lifts.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry installation materials and equipment.
  • Professional communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • NYC SST Card

Experience with illuminated signage, dimensional letters, exterior signage, electrical troubleshooting, welding, vinyl application or leading an installation crew is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $30-$36 per hour, based on experience and capabilities
  • Full-time, year-round position
  • Overtime opportunities when available
  • Paid time off
  • Health insurance contribution
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Stable Monday-Friday employment with an established NYC architectural signage company

We are looking for someone who wants a long-term position and takes genuine pride in doing clean, accurate work. Reliability, attention to detail, professionalism and the ability to think through problems in the field are extremely important to us.

To apply, please send a resume or a brief description of your relevant experience. Photos of previous installation work are welcome.
