  • +$2/hr -> Monday-Thursday Nights
  • +$3/hr -> Friday-Sunday Nights

What You'll Do:

The Mental Health Therapist provides services to include the following: psychotherapy that includes diagnosis, assessment and treatment and that may include psychoeducation for mental, emotional and behavioral disorders. This is achieved through the use of individual therapy, group counseling, life skills sessions, clinical interventions, crisis management, evaluation, family therapy, and assists in case management and support system development.

  • Conducts a thorough, accurate, clinically sound Psychosocial Assessment with the individual in a timely manner. Maintains the clinic record, including documentation of activities performed as part of the service delivery process.  Obtains signatures from patient regarding treatment, as necessary.
  • Provides internal education regarding DBT, trauma informed care, harm reduction, and service plan documentation.
  • Prepares clinical reports and individualized service plans utilizing agency electronic clinical documentation software.  Ensures documentation complies with best clinical practices, contracts, regulatory and other legal requirements. 
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the Arizona Department of Health Services and Arizona Board of Behavioral Health roles within the Arizona behavioral health system.
  • Conducts brief intervention, individual, family and group counselling within scope of practice. Participates in redirecting individual behavior while maintaining a safe milieu when necessary. Documents all services and individual activities appropriately.
  • Arranges for referral and placement of individuals in other community substance abuse programs, housing, or employment opportunities.
  • Provides case management services to promote recovery and community reintegration.  Conducts crisis interventions and follow up as necessary.
  • Follows up with appropriate leadership regarding all cases on a weekly basis.
  • Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with clients; Ability to determine and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field

  • Unrestricted license as Licensed Mental Health Professional in Arizona (LMSW, LAC, LCSW, LMFT, LPC or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in mental health, substance abuse treatment or relevant work providing psychotherapy to both individuals and groups in a clinical or behavioral health setting

  • Knowledge of principles of recovery, family of origin/intergenerational issues, and co-occurring psychiatric disorders

  • Knowledge and experience working with special populations (Those individuals identified as having serious mental illness, substance abuse diagnoses, brain injuries and those over 60 years of age)

  • Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with clients

  • Ability to determine and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of and experience with the AZ Title-36 legal process.

  • Knowledge of AZ Board of Behavioral Health Examiners

  • Experience in inpatient, residential, or acute care mental health settings

  • Spanish language proficiency
