About the Position


As a Traffic Signal Technician, you'll be at the heart of dynamic, high-impact projects in the transportation and electrical industries, working alongside industry experts who value your skills and ambition. Day in the Life

  • Commitment to Safe Work: Safety is our top priority - always.
  • Ensure Traffic Signal Excellence: Perform skilled installations, repair, and maintenance of traffic control devices.
  • Diagnose & Troubleshoot: Read schematics and blueprints, troubleshoot electrical systems, and restore operations to streetlights, telephone poles, and other ITS devices.
  • Drive Efficiency: Conduct field inspections, investigate complaints, and ensure optimal functionality of equipment.
  • Innovate & Solve Problems: Evaluate, design, and construct tests of new equipment.
  • Support Construction & Engineering Efforts: Install new overhead traffic signals and streetlight equipment using an aerial lift truck, conduct preventative maintenance, and assist in field stakeouts.
  • Track & Report: Maintain installed quantities, track work orders, and ensure cost justification.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: 3+ years of Traffic Signal Technician experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of technical expertise in the installation and repair of streetlight systems. Excellent computer aptitude with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with electrical schematics and construction methods is a plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with DOT projects, public works, and transportation infrastructure. Understanding of design plans, installation details, and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong Communication & Problem-Solving: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities. Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines with a self-directed approach.
  • Bonus Points if You Have: IMSA Certification. Class B or Class A CDL. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30. Training and/or experience using the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Additional Requirement: This position requires membership in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Successful candidates must be eligible to join and maintain membership in the union as a condition of employment.

  • Occasional travel may be required.
