Job description

Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is seeking a talented Electrical or Computer Engineer to join our diverse team, in Huntsville, AL., to create unique solutions for complex problems. AMS provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions ranging from air and missile defense technologies, command and control, radar systems, seekers, modeling & simulation, and prototype hardware development and testing.

Position Description:

The engineer in this role will perform the following:

  • Develop radar models and simulation environments to match threat radar intelligence assessments, including waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking, and signal processing.
  • They will also write technical briefings, design documentation, and test plans as needed to support software development efforts. *

*Development efforts include- modeling all aspects of radar sensors and functionality to include performance timeline, weapons envelope, clutter mitigation, EA/EP, etc. Radar/weapons systems analysis includes probability of detection, waveform analysis, probability of interception, area of responsibility, etc.

*Algorithm development includes- detection processes, waveform selection, signal processing, clutter and EA mitigation, adaptive beamforming, target identification, etc.

RF hardware includes transmitters, exciters, antennas, multi-channel and high-bandwidth receivers, SOTA processors, RF lab equipment development/integration, along with software development and test.


Basic Qualifications (required):

  • Graduating GPA of 3.5+
  • Strong software development skills in object-oriented programming principles.
  • Proficient in C++
  • Git experience preferred.
  • Experience working within Agile development processes preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to comfortably interact with and present to customers, coworkers and management on a regular basis.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate.
  • Good people skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the year.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Security Requirements:

  • Citizenship: Candidate must a US only citizen.
  • possess (and be able to maintain) a Final TOP SECRET/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final TOP SECRET Clearance.
