Job description

Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is seeking a talented Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, and/or Mathematics to join our diverse team, in Huntsville, AL., to create unique solutions for complex problems. AMS provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions ranging from air and missile defense technologies, command and control, radar systems, seekers, modeling & simulation, and prototype hardware development and testing.

Position Description:

The engineer in this position will work on the following:

  • Research and develop signal processing techniques, develop models and simulations to analyze signal processing concepts, and implement concepts in hardware.
  • Write software to implement functions on a Digital Signal Processor using programs such as MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or VHDL or similar tools to implement and optimize performance.

Basic Qualifications (required):

  • Fluent with tools such as MATLAB, Linux, Python, Simulink - and languages such as C/C++, etc.
  • Knowledge in areas such as digital filtering, spectral estimation, detection and estimation theory, linear algebra and stochastic processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics
  • Experience working in areas of modeling and simulation (M&S), radar, adaptive radar, signals processing, algorithm development synthetic aperture radar (SAR) or similar fields
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in related field.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the year.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Security Requirements:

  • Citizenship: Candidate must a US only citizen.
  • Clearance level: Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
