Job description

Senior Signal Processing Research Engineer | National Security | Top Secret Clearance

Join our nationally recognized team as a Senior Signal Processing Research Engineer, where you'll tackle the most challenging technical problems in RF signal processing critical to national security. We are seeking exceptional research engineers and scientists with deep expertise in signal processing, radar systems, and digital communications to develop cutting-edge solutions for complex RF environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects involving low signal-to-noise ratio conditions, high interference environments, and non-stationary signal processing challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, design, and implement advanced signal processing algorithms in software for diverse RF and radar applications
  • Serve as principal investigator or collaborate within small, specialized engineering teams on national security projects
  • Perform comprehensive RF signal analysis, data analysis, reverse engineering, simulation, and modeling
  • Develop and implement signal processing algorithms using C/C++, Python, and scientific programming languages
  • Support algorithm transition to real-time, high-performance production computing environments
  • Provide technical communication and presentations to customers, end-users, and partners at appropriate technical levels
  • Translate customer objectives into technical requirements and manage project performance, schedule expectations, and status reporting
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field (Ph.D. strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in signal processing or related fields (5+ years highly desirable)
  • U.S. Citizenship with current Top Secret/SSBI security clearance in-scope
  • Demonstrated programming experience with scientific and numerical algorithm implementation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical presentations and customer engagement
Desired Skills and Expertise
  • Outstanding background in one or more: signal processing, digital communications, detection and estimation theory, remote sensing, radar signal processing, adaptive antenna array processing, or navigation/geolocation systems
  • Proficiency implementing signal processing algorithms in C/C++ and Python
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and open source development tool chains
  • Knowledge of software defined radio (SDR), baseband architecture, RF architecture, and wireless propagation modeling
  • Familiarity with modern communications protocols including LTE, WCDMA, GSM, 802.11, or 802.16 standards
  • Understanding of numerical linear algebra and computational mathematics
  • Experience with MATLAB, adaptive filtering, beamforming, or array signal processing
Why This Is a Great Opportunity

This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a team that maintains a national reputation for delivering innovative solutions to the most challenging signal processing problems facing our nation's defense and intelligence community.
