Job description

Build Landmark Signage Across Northeast Ohio

Picture your day starting at 7:00 AM in Eastlake, Ohio. You meet up with a tight-knit installation crew, review the dayโ€™s work orders and blueprints, load the truck with hand and power tools, and roll out to your first site. By mid-morning youโ€™re digging precise post holes, setting bases, and mounting commercial signs. After lunch, youโ€™re running basic electrical wiring, troubleshooting lighting, and heading up in a bucket truckโ€”sometimes 60 feet or moreโ€”to bring a sign to life. Itโ€™s physical, hands-on, and outdoors in all weather, and you end the day knowing thousands will see the results of your work.

Champion Personnel is hiring a full-time, contract-to-hire Commercial Signage Installer & Lighting Technician. This first-shift role runs Mondayโ€“Friday, 7:00 AMโ€“3:30 PM, with overtime available. Pay starts at $25โ€“$30 per hour.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Interpret blueprints and work orders to plan each install or service call.
  • Use hand and power tools to prepare sites: dig holes, set foundations, and mount signs.
  • Perform basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting for illuminated signage and lighting systems.
  • Operate from bucket trucks at heights of 60 feet or more when needed.
  • Travel across Northeast Ohio (and occasionally elsewhere in the state) with an experienced crew.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Physically active, outdoor role with climbing, bending, and frequent lifting of 50โ€“60 pounds.
  • All-weather work; safety-first culture with teamwork at the center.
What You Bring
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Hands-on background encouraged: construction, installation, concrete work, landscaping, roofing, utility work, electrical, or other skilled trades.
  • Pluses (not required): previous sign installation experience, CDL Class A or B, strong blueprint reading skills.
