Position Summary

Conco Construction is seeking a Project Manager with the proven ability to lead and manage construction projects across a variety of industry sectors, sizes, and levels of complexity. This position is responsible for taking projects from estimate through final close-out while partnering closely with project superintendents, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

A successful Project Manager at Conco will have, or be committed to developing, a strong understanding of our self-performing trades, including earthwork, concrete, masonry, ironwork, carpentry, drywall, and pre-engineered metal buildings. Because Conco’s success is built on long-term client relationships, this role requires strong communication, accountability, follow-through, and a commitment to delivering quality work safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate will feel at home in Conco’s fast-paced, high-energy environment and will bring a strong sense of ownership to every project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects in partnership with the project superintendent.
  • Prepare for and lead project-related meetings, including progress meetings, OAC meetings, pre-installation meetings, and other project coordination meetings.
  • Create, maintain, and update detailed project construction schedules.
  • Review and approve project invoices on a weekly basis.
  • Accurately update job cost reports, projections, and estimated project profits.
  • Prepare competitive estimates for both self-perform trades and subcontracted scopes of work.
  • Manage bid processes for both hard-bid and negotiated projects.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, design teams, and business partners.
  • Prepare, review, and manage project RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, subcontract documents, contract documents, change orders, and close-out documents.
  • Proactively identify project risks, challenges, and opportunities, and work with the project team to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Support business development efforts by representing Conco professionally with current and prospective clients.

Qualifications

Required

  • Relevant construction management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a project management, construction management, or closely related role.
  • Experience supporting or leading construction projects from start to finish.
  • Exposure to estimating, budgeting, and bid processes.
  • Experience coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience leading and managing commercial construction projects.
  • Experience managing projects in excess of $5M.
  • Experience managing Construction Manager at Risk projects.
  • Experience working with self-performing construction teams.
  • Experience supporting project interviews, client presentations, or business development efforts.
