Job description

Signage Sales Consultant
Nashville, Tennessee | Full-time | Exempt | Hybrid

Scope
  • Generates sales leads from assigned territory and initiates contact with prospects.
  • Determines product and service needs, obtains required details, prepares request for quotations, and follows up to close sales.
  • Obtains project information necessary to create production and installation documents and works with Project Management staff to ensure successful product installation and client satisfaction.
  • Maintains contact with clients to promote reorders and obtain referral sales.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; marketing, business, or communications major preferred.
  • Experience in an architectural, construction, design or graphics related field considered an advantage. Experience in the signage industry high recommended.
  • Must be goal driven and able to work independently.
  • Must have highly developed written and verbal communication skills, and be organized, detail oriented and quality conscious.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Achieves sales quotas and gross profit margins set forth in the Consultant’s compensation plan.
  • Manages time and territory in a fashion enabling the Sales Consultant to market the company’s products in an organized and efficient manner. Gains knowledge of the territory so that sales efforts will be focused on the most productive pool of potential clients.
  • Generates sales leads from assigned territory by, business directories, trade journals and other publications, obtaining referrals from existing clients, telephone inquiries, canvassing, direct mail, and cold calling.
  • Follows up on all sales leads provided to Sales Consultant by management generated through local marketing efforts and/or lead services, and those generated by Sales Consultant themselves, via telephone, correspondence, and personal meetings as required.
  • Develops relationships with key specifiers and end users so that the company is the preferred source for its products and services. Maintains regular contact with existing clients and qualified prospects to keep abreast of current projects, to update their company literature and inform them about new products and services.
  • Has and maintains a thorough knowledge of the company’s products, services, and capabilities, including understanding materials, construction and manufacturing processes.
  • Determines client needs, evaluates them in relation to the company’s products and services, renders accurate information and advice regarding the company’s products and services, and gathers the information necessary to specify products, prepare quotes, and create production and installation documents.
  • Prepares or requests product quotations and project proposals, working with the Project Services personnel and/or Estimating staff as required, and delivers them to clients in a timely fashion.
