Summary Statement

Incumbents in this class serve as lead workers for roadway signing projects.Possession of a valid Driver's License is required and must\r\nbe maintained. Since this position will be an on-call rotation, the selected candidate must live within 45 minutes of\r\nthe Gravel Hill Sign Shop.\r\n

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\r\n\r\n Oversees crews installing signs or pavement markings (tape or paint).\r\n \r\n Prepares sites for sign installation.\r\n \r\n Determines proper layouts for intersection markings.\r\n \r\n Operates hand and power tools such as air hammers, pipe installers and pullers, saws, etc.\r\n \r\n Operates motor vehicles, tape machines, hand rollers and air compressors.\r\n \r\n Submits daily reports to account for materials, man-hours and equipment used.\r\n \r\n Maintains inventories of supplies.\r\n \r\n Provides training for less experienced installers.\r\n\r\n

Job Requirements

Job Requirements for Traffic Sign Installer Specialist\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n \r\n Six months experience in operating a variety of hand and power tools used in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting or HVAC.\r\n \r\n \r\n Knowledge of interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings.\r\n \r\n \r\n Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving.\r\n \r\n\r\n
