Title: Sign Shop Support
Classification: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:
Sign Shop Support is responsible for assisting in the production, assembly, and installation of traffic signs. This includes operating machinery, maintaining inventory, preparing work orders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position involves collaborating with team members, maintaining a clean work environment, and supporting the sign shop's operations to ensure timely project completion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Gather, lift, and carry inventory items such as reflective sheeting, aluminum blanks, tools, and finished signs.
  • Set up and utilize sign maker computer to produce cut letters of various sizes; mark, position, and apply letters to sign faces.
  • Operate squeeze roll machine and count incoming aluminum blanks for storage.
  • Measure and cut aluminum and composite sheets to required dimensions, trim edges of sheeted sign blanks.
  • Fabricate aluminum and construction signs, including custom layouts for silk screen and printing processes.
  • Read and understand sign order requirements from sales orders and verbal instructions.
  • Clean signs after fabrication and maintain clean work areas.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Previous experience in sign production preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
  • Must have excellent attendance, reliable transportation, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Wear proper safety equipment (work boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, and safety vest).
  • Must be well organized.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
