A Day in the Life of the Shop Assistant
  • Support the Fabrication Department with sign assembly and production activities
  • Assist the Paint Department with sanding, surface preparation, masking, and other pre-finish tasks
  • Organize, stage, and prepare materials, parts, and supplies for upcoming projects
  • Perform quality control inspections using company quality standards and checklists
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the facility
  • Assist with inventory organization and material management
  • Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the shop as needed
  • Run local errands to pick up supplies, parts, materials, and other business-related items
  • Work closely with multiple departments to ensure resources are available and projects remain on schedule
  • Provide general shop support and assist with special projects as assigned

A Few Qualifications This Person Must Have
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, construction, or production environment is preferred but not required
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical work for extended periods
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain a safe work environment
  • Willingness to learn and assist wherever needed to support the team
