Sign Designer / Maker Full-Time On-Site TM Signs & Graphics Bakersfield, CA

TM Signs & Graphics is a locally owned, independent sign shop in Bakersfield looking for an experienced Sign Designer/Maker to join our small, tight-knit team.
Were not looking for just another graphic designer we want a true production professional who loves turning raw materials into high-quality signs that our customers are proud to display. This is a fast-paced, hands-on production role for someone who thrives under real responsibility and takes ownership of their work. If you take pride in your craft, enjoy seeing your signs around town, and want to be part of a shop that values excellence, respect, and continuous improvement, this is a great opportunity.

A Typical Day Youll be busy, productive, and contributing from start to finish:
  • Develop sign designs to meet client goals using Adobe Illustrator (and learn/use other software platforms as needed)
  • Produce signs using raw materials vinyl, laminate, metal, and acrylic substrates
  • Print, laminate, cut vinyl on the plotter, mask/weed, and apply graphics
  • Perform quality control (check spelling, color, size, and proof match)
  • Install simple signs: door graphics, vehicle wraps, wall/fence mounts, etc.
  • Keep the production area clean and organized (trash, sweep, proper tool storage)
  • Track project records accurately (electronic and paper)
  • Monitor waste, recommend process improvements, and participate in daily production meetings
Who Were Looking For (Non-Negotiables)
  • 3 years of hands-on sign production experience (not primarily graphic design); computer savvy
  • Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator (or very similar vector software) and willingness to learn additional platforms
  • Proven self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent work ethic, reliability, and conscientious attention to detail
  • Positive team player who is easy to work with, respectful, and maintains a great attitude every day
  • Organized, clean, and takes ownership of your workspace
  • Strong communication skills and a strong sense of urgency
  • Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license
  • Strong professional references (we will check them)

Compensation $18.00 $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience). Pay is reviewed after 90 days.
