Job description

At Federal Heath, our success is a direct result of our exceptional people. We are looking to add a talented and motivated DESIGNER who shares our values of teamwork, commitment, integrity, and mutual respect to our Hurst TX or Racine WI team! This is a HYBRID role, with an expectation of being in the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
Position Objective and Responsibility:
We are seeking a Designer with experience in the signage industry. The Designer will function as
the primary source of design, specifications, and preliminary engineering consultation for our
current and potential customers. We have an immediate opening for a full-time designer who is
motivated and believes in a team approach.
Responsibilities include:
  • Provide complete detailed and accurate design and specification drawings according to set
  • standards regarding order, format, content, and terminology
  • Use Computer Assisted Design (CorelDraw) equipment and Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Maintain orderly and accessible graphic files on our in-house system.
  • Coordinate FHS and subcontractor resources for the support of design and preliminary engineering
  • requirements of existing programs and potential program customers as needed.
  • Provide direction in the performance of site survey to ensure complete and accurate site
  • evaluations.
  • Assist with the analysis of sign code information.
  • Provide optimum graphic and technical recommendations as dictated by survey and code
  • analysis.
  • Communicate as primary program team contact with plant and field technicians regarding design
  • and technical specification
  • Assist with the resolution of work completed and invoicing issues with subcontractors as related
  • to design.
  • Interface with production and engineering personnel as well as study specifications, new
  • technologies, and product samples.
  • Participate in sales presentations to promote a team approach to customers as required by our
  • sales group.
  • Create standards for Ongoing Accounts for Charter Books as Gatekeeper.

Skills and Experience Desired:
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience, designing in a similar role in the signage industry.
  • The candidate must be able to accept responsibility for functional design and preliminary
  • engineering support for our program and potential program customers.
  • Prior experience working with vendors, contractors and other internal groups involved with
  • petroleum projects is a plus.
  • Must possess a basic working knowledge of CAD equipment and software specifically:
    • o Design/Rendering (CorelDRAW experience would be preferred.)
    • o Lettering/Layout
    • o Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat as well as Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on
    • Word, Outlook and Teams.
    • o Some knowledge/familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Adobe Illustrator is desirable.
    • o General, very fundamental Engineering knowledge would be helpful.
  • The ability to adapt and work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment is a
  • must.
  • Strong time-management skills are necessary to ensure deadlines and KPI's are met.
  • Candidates must also be willing to travel to customer locations, or FH locations if
  • required.
