Six Sigma Black Belt Consultant

Novi, MI (Onsite)

Responsibilities-

Initially support Cabana implementation / application readiness process, work with team on DMAIC projects,

Run 6-sigma launch projects and studies, and lead capability studies for launch projects. This will all be for the Closures and Body Engineering

Lead conceptual engineering studies and apply structured Six Sigma problem-solving to address complex challenges in movable roof and closure systems.

Apply Six Sigma methodology to define and manage critical design and manufacturing parameters essential for robust system performance.

Partner closely with body engineering, manufacturing, studio design, quality, and customer experience teams to drive cross-functional system development.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline; Master's degree preferred.

Certified Six Sigma Black Belt with 5 10+ years of experience in automotive projects

Strong understanding of product requirements and closure features affecting customer experience across one or more systems is preferred:

o Fabric sliding roofs

o Convertible tops

o Moonroofs

o Tonneau covers

Deep knowledge of fundamental physics, including loads, forces, kinematics, packaging, and system-level trade-offs.

Self-directed and capable of managing issues to closure across cross-functional teams in a fast-changing program environment.

Strong interest and capability in developing innovative analysis methods using available tools and data.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier organizations.

Ability to deliver results under pressure

Willingness to travel to suppliers, manufacturing locations, and test facilities as needed, including out-of-state travel.
